Happy New Year! What’s on your list of wishes and affirmations? I’m starting out 2022 with learning how to use crystals and tarot cards in my everyday lifestyle. It’s something I’ve been interested in for awhile, and now feels like the right timing! My shopping spree to buy supplies has spread across Etsy and Amazon, including this beautiful Stardust Tarot Card Deck from Terra Soleil. The deck includes 78 traditional cards of major and minor arcana as well as a guide book. The cards are literally gorgeous.

My New Year Reading Results
1. How am I entering into the new year?
Strength: vitality, confidence, power. This card is most commonly associated with triumph over an injury, disease, or traumatic life obstacle. It can also symbolize inner willpower and determination.
2. What part of myself should I work to unlock this year?
Knight of Wands: charming, brave, heroic. This card urges you to go after your ideas and manifest them into existence. It also denounces fear and urges you to be bold and fearless.
My Interpretation
I ended 2021 with new knowledge towards my mental health and what I need in a relationship. I completed two months of partial hospitalization where I learned how to better manage symptoms and received validation of others my age also living with Bipolar Disorder. Months later I received my PTSD diagnosis and learned that some of my sensory sensitivities stem from those past events. Knowledge is power, and power is strength. This year I need to continue being brave and stay true to what I need in a relationship. This includes clearly communicating my deal breakers and boundaries with others. All of this requires myself to be bold, fearless, and forget my fear of not being able to connect with another person romantically.
3. What obstacle lies before me?
Justice: balance, fairness, truth. This card represents the need for accountability. It symbolizes moral truth and offers fairness and ethics to solutions of corruption.
4. How can I prepare to overcome that obstacle?
Wheel of Fortune: destiny, luck, opportunity. This card symbolizes the denial of chance and the fatality which is implied from its existence. It can also indicate good luck and the circle of life.
5. What message does the new year have for me?
The Hermit: solitude, reflection, peace. The card represents spiritual reflection and introspection. It can symbolize the discovery of the self through the intimate analysis of one’s life.
My Interpretation
Many times in my life I have found myself feeling misunderstood, or someone that no one will truly understand. An obstacle that I have found is expecting others to be just as honest and blunt as I am, when many are not. Forgetting this can tip the scale in what I feel is fair within a conversation or a relationship. I’m still figuring our how the Wheel of Fortune and opportunity will play in to overcoming this obstacle, but I agree with The Hermit that the discovery of the self will continue to help me move forward in everything I do.
6. How will I connect with others this year?
Five of Pentacles: hardship, recession, poverty. This symbolizes economic turmoil and financial hardship. Bad business investments and unemployment are characteristic with this card as well as divorce or scandal within the familial sphere.
7. What skills will be most useful to my career this year?
Queen of Pentacles: business, prosperity, loyalty. This card represents a kind and thoughtful woman with a strong head on her shoulders. This is typically a woman with a dawn to earth and nurturing spirit.
8. How can I better take care of myself this year?
The Chariot: drive, ambition, success. This is a card that embodies the importance of determination and willpower. It represents the conquering of internal and external conflicts. It also represents victory and divine evolution over time.
9. How do I need to grow spiritually this year?
Four of Swords: anxiety, stress, sanctuary. This is typically associated with introspection, anxiety, and fear. It may suggest that your personal emotions are clouding your better judgement, making you prone to irrational decisions. Having a support system is vital.
My Interpretation
I’m not going to lie, the Five of Pentacles has me sweatin’ a bit. My take is that someone close will have a hardship that I will be there for to connect with them, or vice versa. When looking at my career, I hope that I do come across as a thoughtful team player who will prosper. I’m looking forward to continuing on the business path I am currently on. Without a doubt, conquering internal and external conflicts, especially those related to stress and anxiety, will be a way for me to better take care of myself. Acceptance towards these conflicts will be the key to move on.
I can’t wait for the rest of the year and the readings to come! Happy 2022
