It’s that time of year again! Birds are starting to chirp, grass is starting to grow, and Easter celebrations are upon us. Outfit wise, this is always a holiday that sneaks up on me. I am just getting done with St. Patrick’s Day when all of a sudden I’m trading in my emerald green for floral prints and jean jackets. Each year Easter dresses are all about the florals and pastels. While I still love a good, true Easter look, this year I was also drawn to dresses that were bold, feminine, and moved well. It’s time to spice up Easter!

Trend alert: natural ‘cork’! I’ve been seeing a lot of heels and sandals with color selection ‘natural’, featuring cork-impersonation. While at first this made me turn my head to the side and ask why, however the style actually grew on me. They would make a perfect touch of detail for a spring dress!

My Easter 2019 Plans

Easter holiday is always a little different each year for my family. When we all lived in Illinois, it was custom to gather at my grandma’s house, or our house, to celebrate. Many family members have since moved away, however, so this year we’re sticking with visiting my family in the morning and Vince’s family in the afternoon! What are some of your Easter traditions?

What To Wear To a Holiday Event + The Perfect Holiday Heels

Who else is ready for turkey & stuffing?? 🙋🏽‍♀️ I feel like the holidays alway sneak up on us. From checking off your gift list to planning events, everything comes up sooo fast. For me, I always feel like I’m rushing to figure out what to wear for the holidays and never feel completely satisfied with the outcome due to this. This year I have come to the realization that you only need main item in your holiday outfit, whether it’s for a family gathering or work event, to make it a winner. An item that is something sparkly, metallic, and/or velvet to revolve the rest of your holiday outfit around!

This year, I didn’t need to search far to find this magical item to complete my outfit. I came across it by accident when online shopping on ASOS and it immediately spoke to me; the most perfect holiday heels I have ever laid my eyes on. I mean come on, the whole heel is encrusted in RHINESTONES! Plus the satin raspberry color and pop of embellishment in the front is perfectly festive. What’s even better is that these holiday heels are currently on sale for 40% off (walk, don’t run)! I absolutely love their block heel and pointed toe combination.

I think the easiest outfit to put together for any type of holiday event is a long sleeve shirt paired with a skirt and heels. Now this is the base of your outfit. There are many opportunities to spruce it up and customize it to your liking from once you have the base down. Tights, no tights. Jewelry, no jewelry. Pump heels, boot heels. Handbag, clutch. The options are endless! For this specific outfit I am wearing an embellished collared button up from MANGO, black flare skirt (from a few years ago – see similar options linked below), ASOS embellished heels, and sparkly Marc Jacobs clutch (from a few years ago – see similar options below).
