You may have noticed CBD oil popping up all over your newsfeed overnight. This booming beauty trend has made waves all over the country within the spa, skincare, and beauty industries. More and more companies and salons have announced their CBD oil infused products and treatments, including house brands like Ulta and Sephora, emphasizing the calming and nourishing effects. Even Walgreens is hoping on the CBD train!
So, What is CBD?
According to Project CBD, Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis flower. Basically, the oil is infused into different products and treatments. Today it is used for therapeutic relief towards chronic pain, anxiety, depression, inflammation, and more. Which is why it makes perfect sense to start having CBD skincare products and CBD spa treatments! Having the CBD beauty trend in the media has shown a misinformed understanding that CBD is negative and drug-like. CBD, however, does not contain THC strains, which is what gives the commonly known Cannabis ‘high’. Therefore, it is perfectly legal and, I believe, a great addition to the beauty, skincare, and spa industries!
