It’s a crazy world we live in, but it’s not all bad! Staying in is the best thing for us to do at this time with COVID-19 spreading, which may seem daunting, however there are many things to do inside while social distancing. I’ve listed my favorite options below for your viewing. Which one will you try? Comment below!
1. Learn a dance challenge on Tik Tok
For those of you who have been following my Instagram Stories, I recently created a Tik Tok account and have loved creating dance videos on it! Especially learning dance challenges. So far this has included the Britney Spears Challenge and Renegade Challenge. Not only does creating a Tik Tok video take a little bit of time to do, it’s a fun way to keep you busy while inside.
2. Netflix/Disney+ and Chill
The most obvious thing to do while staying inside is to binge your favorite shows and movies. My two favorite streaming channels are Netflix and Disney+. I’ve listed my top recommended shows or movies on both below:
Netflix
- Someone Great
- Gossip Girl
- Love is Blind
- To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before 1 & 2
- Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
- Gilmore Girls
- The Office
- Lucifer
- Breaking Bad
Disney+
- Frozen 1 & 2
- Wizards of Waverly Place
- Aladdin (live action)
- Hercules
- Mulan
- The Princess Diaries
- Monsters Inc.
- The Luck of the Irish
- The Mandalorian
3. Shop Locally Online
Shop online in order to help out your area’s local businesses! Buy an e-gift card from your favorite restaurant to use later, find a local store to buy from online, order food for delivery, and make sure to rate your favorite businesses with 5 star reviews. Let’s do our part to help out!
4. Work out in your living room
If you’re looking to keep up on your cardio and your regular gym is closed, work out in your living room! Roll out a mat, grab your dumbbells, and find a video on YouTube to follow along too. My favorite workout videos are from Tone It Up’s channel. They are quick, usually 20 minutes or less, but effective. Don’t forget to stretch before and after!
5. Start a Journal
Were you waiting for the right time to start a journal? This is defiantly it. It’s very therapeutic to write down what’s happening around you and what you’re feeling. Your mental health is very important to keep in check during this time, and journaling can be great way to harness anxiety. There are many affordable journals offered on Amazon that you can have delivered right to you!
6. Learn how to cook a new recipe
Is there a recipe that you’ve been wanting to try out? Granted if you can find all the ingredients to make it, now’s the time to give it a go! Need some inspiration? Check out my posts on how to make Coquito cookies and Arroz Con Gandules! Need even MORE inspiration? I’ve been pinning a lot of tasty recipes on Pinterest 🙂
7. Get your apartment in order
Deep clean, organize your closet, do some laundry. Get your apartment (or house) in order to help set a worry-free space. I recently went through my closet and packed up everything that I wasn’t using and wanting to give to Goodwill. This was both productive and therapeutic!
8. Read a book
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is still sitting half-read on my end table! Now is the perfect time to pick up that book you’ve been putting off, or order one online that you’ve had your eye on, to cozy up and read. I know I will!
